Matthew Cowan graduated from New York University Stern School of Business in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science and obtained his Juris Doctor from New York Law School in 2010.
Matthew spent several years in private practice on the New Hampshire Seacoast before joining the firm in 2026. For nearly a decade before entering private practice, Matthew served as General Counsel for a boutique finance firm.
Matthew is licensed to practice in New Hampshire and New York. While he focuses on litigation, he also assists clients with corporate and real estate matters.
Matthew has lived in Portsmouth since 2016. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, his two children, and his dog. Matthew is heavily involved in basketball around the New Hampshire Seacoast as an AAU youth coach, men’s league player, and certified IAABO referee.
