Alec McEachern has been practicing law for over 25 years and prides himself on helping clients to understand the legal process. His focus is in the areas of estate planning, probate administration, real estate and business transactions. Alec believes that careful listening and clear communication are the foundation of every successful attorney-client relationship.
After graduating from the University of New Hampshire in 1987, Alec served as an Infantry Officer in the United States Marine Corps, first as a Rifle Platoon Commander and then as Executive Officer of Bravo Company, First Battalion, Ninth Marines. Alec graduated with honors from Western New England School of Law in 1994 and then served as a law clerk in the New Hampshire Superior Court. Alec also holds a Masters in Tax Law from Boston University School of Law and is admitted as a member of the New Hampshire Bar, the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire and the United States Tax Court.
Alec and his wife Cynthia live in Portsmouth where they raised their four children and now have four grandchildren. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Southeastern New Hampshire Alcohol & Drug Abuse Services and enjoys spending his time away on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia.
